Outdoor Saunas for Oklahoma and Arkansas

Short answer: we ship handmade outdoor saunas to Oklahoma and Arkansas. Blazin Saunas is a team of six in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and each sauna is built for your order. Pods, barrels, cubes, and the Timberline ship free in the contiguous U.S. The Blazin Teton Sauna and The Blackwood arrive fully built, and their shipping is quoted.

These two states run from open prairie in western Oklahoma to the Ozarks and Ouachitas in Arkansas. Summers are hot, spring brings severe storms, and winter can turn icy. Below is how we would plan a sauna for that mix.

Wind, storms, and ice

  • Use the house as a shield. On open ground, a spot near a wall, a row of trees, or a solid fence takes the edge off the wind and keeps debris from piling against the door.
  • Plan for spring storms. Clear the roof and stow loose yard items when severe weather is coming. Whether an outdoor structure must be tied down at your address is a local matter, so check your local rules and ask us.
  • Think about winter footing. An ice storm can glaze the path and the steps. Keep the route to the door short and easy to clear, and brush ice and snow off the roof once it is safe to do so. More winter tips: Cold-climate saunas.
  • Drain it, shade it. Set the sauna on a level base that drains, and give it some afternoon shade through the summer. Base and power: Foundation and electrical.

Hill country and lake lots

In the Ozarks and around the lakes, a level spot can take some work. On a slope, plan the base before you order: a level, well-drained pad or platform that you can reach on foot. Ask your local office what it takes to build one there. If the property is a weekend place, think about how you will get power to the sauna, since that drives the heater choice. If you are weighing heat sources for a cabin, read wood vs electric in a cold climate.

Electric or wood heat

Electric is the simplest place to start, with a licensed electrician running the circuit. Our pods, Pod Mini, cubes, 2 Person Barrel, XL Barrel, and Timberline reach 175-230°F and heat in 30 to 60 minutes depending on size. Wood-burning heaters can go on the XL Barrel, 4 Person Barrel, and Timberline, as well as the Teton and Blackwood (6 Person Cube on request; ask us), and we can build with both a wood and an electric heater. Rules on smoke and outdoor burning differ by county and town, so keep wood as a second step: check your local rules and ask us first. Gas and propane heaters are available by request: call, text or message us to set it up. Compare them: Electric vs wood-burning heaters.

Permits and HOAs

Inside city limits, call the city about zoning, setbacks, and permits. Out in the county, start with the county. In both places, check your local rules for the electrical hookup as well, and read any covenants on your deed or HOA rules before you order. Our Permits and HOA guide has the full checklist.

Models by household and lot

Kit walls are 1 5/8" Sugi cedar, joined with stainless steel screws rather than glue. The Teton and Blackwood are insulated, with a Sugi cedar, Thermo Spruce, or Thermo Aspen interior and siding chosen per build. Pods, barrels, cubes, and the Timberline are $1,250 off regular price until we are booked up, and the Teton and Blackwood are regular price. Help choosing: Which sauna fits me · Teton vs Blackwood.

Getting it to you

Kits take about 4-5 weeks to build, then 5-10 business days in transit, with free shipping to both states. Most customers assemble it themselves; a calm, dry day and a second set of hands help.
