Why Blazin Saunas

Built by hand in Idaho Falls, Idaho

Sugi cedar, no plastics

Pods, barrels, cubes and the Timberline are Sugi cedar. The Teton and Blackwood also offer Thermo Spruce or Thermo Aspen interiors. No plastics in the structure that off-gas in the heat.

Glue-free cabin joinery

1 5/8" thick Sugi cedar walls on pods, barrels, cubes and the Timberline, fastened with stainless steel screws. Teton and Blackwood are insulated cabins.

Heaters

Choose your heat

Electric, wood-burning, or gas and propane heaters, and we can build with both wood and electric if you want both. Heat-up takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the sauna.

Electric

Suits most backyards where a licensed electrician can run a dedicated circuit to the sauna.

Wood-burning

Suits cabins, canyon lots and rural properties where running power is impractical, or anyone who prefers the ritual of tending a fire.

Gas / propane

Another option. Ask us how it fits your property, and check local rules for gas or propane installs.

Wood + electric

Both wood and electric builds are available on request.

Before you order

  • A level, well-drained base
  • Zoning and setback rules for your lot
  • HOA approval, if you have one
  • Electrical permit and circuit for an electric heater
  • A clear delivery path for the truck
  • Room to keep the roof and door path clear of snow

Rules vary by city, county and HOA. We're happy to talk through placement by phone.

here can I buy a handmade outdoor sauna in Wyoming?

Who sets fire restrictions in Wyoming?

Fire restrictions are set locally and can change quickly. Check with your county before you run a wood-burning stove, or consider electric or a wood and electric build.

How much snow does Wyoming get?

It varies by town. The National Weather Service office in Riverton lists a seasonal snowfall average of 98.0 inches at the Lander airport and 37.1 inches in the town of Riverton. Ask your building department what snow load applies to your lot.

Do I need a permit for a sauna in Teton County?

Ask the Teton County building office, or your own city or county, before you order. Small-shed exemptions may not cover a sauna with electric heat, and zoning, setbacks, and electrical work can also apply.

Local know-how

Planning your sauna

Weather and setup in Wyoming

Wind, snow, county fire restrictions and permits all shape where a sauna works in Wyoming. Nationwide shipping details are on our national delivery page.

The National Weather Service office in Riverton notes that snow falls frequently across Wyoming from October through May, and that wind often follows a storm and piles the snow into drifts several feet deep. Its seasonal averages range widely: 98.0 inches at the Lander airport, 76.4 at Casper, 56.4 at Cheyenne and 37.1 in the town of Riverton (NWS Riverton, Wyoming Winter Weather Awareness Day). Confirm with your own city or county what snow load your sauna must meet. Set the sauna on a firm, level base, watch where drifts build up on your lot, and face the door away from them. More: Cold-climate saunas.

Electric fits a town lot with service close by. Wood-burning fits a ranch or remote cabin where running power is impractical. Fire restrictions in Wyoming are set locally and can change quickly. Check with your county or local fire district for current rules before you plan on wood, and confirm with your own city or county whether a wood-burning sauna stove is allowed under its current restrictions. See Electric vs wood-burning heaters.

If the drive in is long, steep or gated, say so when you call.

Permits and rules in Wyoming

Permit rules differ by county and town across Wyoming, including Teton County. Small-shed permit exemptions may not cover a sauna wired for an electric heater, so check your local rules and ask your building office about snow load and placement too. Confirm zoning, setbacks, permits and HOA rules with your own city or county before ordering. See our Permits and HOA guide.
