Why Blazin Saunas

Built by hand in Idaho Falls, Idaho

Sugi cedar, no plastics

Pods, barrels, cubes and the Timberline are Sugi cedar. The Teton and Blackwood also offer Thermo Spruce or Thermo Aspen interiors. No plastics in the structure that off-gas in the heat.

Glue-free cabin joinery

1 5/8" thick Sugi cedar walls on pods, barrels, cubes and the Timberline, fastened with stainless steel screws. Teton and Blackwood are insulated cabins.

A crew of six in Idaho Falls

Order online, or call and we'll help you size it and choose electric, wood or gas.

  2. We build it: 4–5 weeks

Handmade to order in our Idaho Falls shop. Teton and Blackwood lead time is confirmed with your quote.

  3. Shipped free: 5–10 business days

Pods, barrels, cubes and the Timberline ship free as part of our free shipping to the contiguous U.S. Teton and Blackwood leave our shop fully built, with shipping quoted by location and whether a crane is needed.

Heaters

Choose your heat

Electric, wood-burning, or gas and propane heaters, and we can build with both wood and electric if you want both. Heat-up takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the sauna.

Electric

Suits most backyards where a licensed electrician can run a dedicated circuit to the sauna.

Wood-burning

Suits cabins, canyon lots and rural properties where running power is impractical, or anyone who prefers the ritual of tending a fire.

Gas / propane

Another option. Ask us how it fits your property, and check local rules for gas or propane installs.

Wood + electric

Both wood and electric builds are available on request.

Before you order

  • A level, well-drained base
  • Zoning and setback rules for your lot
  • HOA approval, if you have one
  • Electrical permit and circuit for an electric heater
  • A clear delivery path for the truck
  • Room to keep the roof and door path clear of snow

Rules vary by city, county and HOA. We're happy to talk through placement by phone.

FAQ

Questions we hear most

How long does delivery take for me in Montana?

Pods, barrels, cubes and the Timberline typically have a 4 to 5 week lead time, followed by 5 to 10 business days in transit. For the Teton and Blackwood, lead time is confirmed with your quote.

Can Blazin assemble the sauna for me in Montana?

Yes. Professional assembly is $1,250 on pods, barrels, cubes and the Timberline, and our own crew installs it. Our pro assembly team works nationwide. The Teton and Blackwood arrive fully built.

Can someone visit my property before I order?

We don't do site visits. We consult by phone, and photos of your site, access path and power help us plan.

What warranty and return policy apply?

Every sauna has a 3-year limited warranty that applies to residential, rental and commercial use, including saunas bought through an authorized dealer. All sales are final. Each sauna is handmade for your order in East Idaho.

How can I pay?

Pay in full, choose monthly payments through Affirm (rates shown at checkout), or use HSA/FSA funds through TrueMed if you qualify with a Letter of Medical Necessity. Options are on each sauna product page.

Where can I buy a handmade outdoor sauna in Montana?

Order directly from Blazin Saunas. We handmake each sauna for your order in East Idaho, in the state next door, and ship it to your Montana address. Call (208) 520-6612 · (208) 270-5860 for a phone consultation.

Is shipping to Montana free?

For pods, barrels, cubes, and the Timberline, yes. The Teton and Blackwood arrive fully built, and their shipping is quoted by location and whether a crane is needed.

Can I use a wood-burning sauna stove in Montana?

That depends on where you live. Check your local rules and ask us, or go with electric or a dual build that has both heaters.

How much snow falls in Montana?

It varies enormously, from moderate snow around Helena to deep snow near West Yellowstone. Keep the roof and door clear, and check your local rules and ask us about your site.

Do I need a permit for a backyard sauna in Montana?

It depends on who has jurisdiction at your address. Confirm zoning, setbacks, permits, and HOA rules with your own city or county before you order.

Local know-how

Planning your sauna

Weather and setup in Montana

Weather, permits and heater rules change from one Montana county to the next. Here is what to check before you order. For shipping anywhere in the country, see our national delivery page.

Snowfall swings widely across Montana, from Helena and Great Falls to the much snowier country around West Yellowstone. Confirm with your own city or county what snow load applies at your address. Give the sauna a level, well-drained base, keep the roof clear, and shovel a path to the door. More: Cold-climate saunas.

Electric is the simple choice when power is close to the house. Wood-burning suits a ranch or backcountry site that is off the grid. Rules on wood heat differ around the state, so plan on electric first, and if you want wood, check your local rules and ask us. Compare heaters in Electric vs wood-burning heaters. Tell us early about gravel roads, tight gates or a sloped lot.

Permits and rules in Montana

Permit authority depends on where you live, and rules for backyard structures differ by city and county across Montana. A heated sauna is not a storage shed, so don't assume an exemption covers it. Confirm zoning, setbacks, permits and HOA rules with your own city or county before you order. See our Permits and HOA guide.
