Why Blazin Saunas

Built by hand in Idaho Falls, Idaho

Sugi cedar, no plastics

Pods, barrels, cubes and the Timberline are Sugi cedar. The Teton and Blackwood also offer Thermo Spruce or Thermo Aspen interiors. No plastics in the structure that off-gas in the heat.

Glue-free cabin joinery

1 5/8" thick Sugi cedar walls on pods, barrels, cubes and the Timberline, fastened with stainless steel screws. Teton and Blackwood are insulated cabins.

A crew of six in Idaho Falls

Heaters

Choose your heat

Electric, wood-burning, or gas and propane heaters, and we can build with both wood and electric if you want both. Heat-up takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the sauna.

Electric

Suits most backyards where a licensed electrician can run a dedicated circuit to the sauna.

Wood-burning

Suits cabins, canyon lots and rural properties where running power is impractical, or anyone who prefers the ritual of tending a fire.

Gas / propane

Another option. Ask us how it fits your property, and check local rules for gas or propane installs.

Wood + electric

Both wood and electric builds are available on request.

Before you order

  • A level, well-drained base
  • Zoning and setback rules for your lot
  • HOA approval, if you have one
  • Electrical permit and circuit for an electric heater
  • A clear delivery path for the truck
  • Room to keep the roof and door path clear of snow

Rules vary by city, county and HOA. We're happy to talk through placement by phone.

FAQ

Questions we hear most

How long does delivery take for me in Oregon?

Pods, barrels, cubes and the Timberline typically have a 4 to 5 week lead time, followed by 5 to 10 business days in transit. For the Teton and Blackwood, lead time is confirmed with your quote.

Can Blazin assemble the sauna for me in Oregon?

Yes. Professional assembly is $1,250 on pods, barrels, cubes and the Timberline, and our own crew installs it. Our pro assembly team works nationwide. The Teton and Blackwood arrive fully built.

Can someone visit my property before I order?

We don't do site visits. We consult by phone, and photos of your site, access path and power help us plan.

What warranty and return policy apply?

Every sauna has a 3-year limited warranty that applies to residential, rental and commercial use, including saunas bought through an authorized dealer. All sales are final. Each sauna is handmade for your order in East Idaho.

How can I pay?

Pay in full, choose monthly payments through Affirm (rates shown at checkout), or use HSA/FSA funds through TrueMed if you qualify with a Letter of Medical Necessity. Options are on each sauna product page.

Where can I buy a handmade outdoor sauna in Oregon?

From Blazin Saunas, directly. Each sauna is handmade for your order by our team of six in Idaho Falls, East Idaho, which borders Oregon, and shipped to your property. Call (208) 520-6612 · (208) 270-5860 to talk it through.

Is the Willamette Valley too wet for an outdoor cedar sauna?

Rain calls for good siting, not a different sauna. Around Salem, rain is part of most of the year. Put the sauna on a level base that sheds water away from the cabin, and keep the ground around it clear.

How cold does it get in Bend?

Cold enough to plan for: Bend has frequent freezing nights through the colder months and some snow. Heat-up takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the sauna.

Does a heated backyard sauna count as habitable space in Oregon?

Ask your city or county building department how it treats a heated backyard sauna. Electrical work for an electric heater can need its own permit.

Do I need a permit for a backyard sauna in Oregon?

It depends on size, height, parcel, and your local rules. Check with your city or county before you order; electrical permits, zoning, setbacks, and HOA rules can all apply.

What does shipping to Oregon cost?

Nothing for pods, barrels, cubes, and the Timberline. The Teton and Blackwood arrive fully built, and we quote their shipping by location and whether a crane is needed.

Local know-how

Planning your sauna

Weather and setup in Oregon

What changes from one side of the Cascades to the other is the weather, and permit rules depend on your city or county. Both are below.

The split is sharp. Salem and the Willamette Valley are rainy with fairly mild winters, while Bend and the high desert are much drier but colder, with more snow and many freezing nights. In the valley, the job is handling water: pick a level spot where runoff moves away from the cabin, keep leaves and debris off the roof and base, and follow our cedar sauna maintenance habits, like leaving the door cracked after use so moisture can escape. In Central Oregon, the job is cold and snow: keep the roof and path clear, and give yourself time, because heat-up takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the size of the sauna. See Cold-climate saunas.

Electric is the easy fit for a Willamette Valley town lot with power close to the sauna. Plan a dedicated circuit with a licensed electrician; see Foundation and electrical. Wood-burning fits Central and Eastern Oregon acreage, a cabin, or any site where running power is a stretch. Check your local rules and ask us before you light it. Our pods, cubes, 2 Person Barrel, XL Barrel and Timberline list 175 to 230°F for the included heater. Gas and propane heaters are available by request: call, text or message us to set it up. More on the tradeoffs: Electric vs wood-burning heaters.

Plan your base and electrical before assembly day. Most customers put the sauna together themselves. Mention a long private road, a slope or a narrow side yard when you call. Details: Delivery and lead times.

Permits and rules in Oregon

Rules for backyard structures differ by city and county, and they can depend on the size of the structure, where it sits on your lot and how it's wired. A heated sauna may not be treated like a storage shed, and a shed exemption, where one exists, may not cover zoning, setbacks, HOA covenants or electrical work. An electric heater usually means an electrical permit question too, and a licensed electrician should do the hookup. Check local rules: confirm zoning, setbacks, permits and HOA approval with your city or county before you order. See our Permits and HOA guide.
