Short answer: yes, Blazin Saunas ships handmade outdoor saunas to Denver and the surrounding metro, from city backyards to the foothills, each built to order in Idaho Falls. Pods, barrels, cubes, and the Timberline ship free in the contiguous U.S. The Blazin Teton Sauna and The Blackwood arrive fully built, with shipping quoted. Rest of the state? See our Colorado guide.
This page is about the metro itself: the kinds of lots you find around Denver and how a sauna fits each one. It is general guidance, so measure your own space and call us with photos.
Fitting a sauna to a Denver-area lot
- Townhome, condo patio, or a small city yard. Space is the limit here. The Pod Mini (seats 1) and the 2 Person Pod or 2 Person Barrel (2 each) have the smallest footprints. The Pod Mini can also go indoors without the roof kit. If you share walls or a yard, start with your HOA.
- Older neighborhood with a detached garage. The strip of yard between the house and the garage can work for a 4-seat model if it is level and drains. The 4 Person Cube has a squarer footprint and a glass front, and the 4 Person Barrel is the classic round shape. Check your local rules on setbacks from property lines and other buildings before you pick the spot.
- Suburban backyard. In a fenced suburban yard in Aurora, Littleton, Arvada, or Highlands Ranch, most of the lineup can fit, depending on the space. For a family, consider the 4 Person Pod, the 4 Person Cube, or the 6 Person Cube (seats 6).
- Foothills lot. West toward Golden and Evergreen, the ground tilts. Plan a level, well-drained pad or platform before you order, and think about the walk from the house in winter. The Timberline (6 or 8) and XL Barrel (6 to 8) suit a property with room to host.
- Fully built. The Teton (5x6 to 8x10) and Blackwood arrive complete; the Blackwood includes an attached changing room. See Teton vs Blackwood.

Sun, dry air, and quick storms
The metro is sunny and dry for much of the year, and snowstorms can arrive fast and leave just as fast. Strong sun weathers any exterior wood, so some afternoon shade and regular cedar care keep the finish looking right. After a storm, brush the snow off the roof and clear the path to the door. Set the sauna on a level base that drains so melting snow runs away from it. More on the base: Foundation and electrical. Winter planning: Cold-climate saunas.
Heater: electric for the metro
For a metro backyard, an electric heater on a circuit run by a licensed electrician is the straightforward choice. Select heaters offer WiFi, so you can start the heat from your phone on the way home: WiFi sauna heaters. Our pods, cubes, 2 Person Barrel, XL Barrel, and Timberline list 175-230°F for the included heater. Wood-burning heaters are offered on the Timberline, XL Barrel, and 4 Person Barrel, plus the Teton and Blackwood, with the 6 Person Cube on request, and we build dual-heater saunas with both. Wood-smoke and burning rules vary across the metro and the mountains, so stay electric-first, and if you want wood, check your local rules and ask us. Gas and propane heaters are available by request: call, text or message us to set it up. Compare: Electric vs wood-burning.
HOA and city or county rules
Denver and each surrounding city and county set their own rules for backyard structures, and an HOA may add covenants of its own. Get HOA approval in writing if you have one, then check your local rules on zoning, setbacks, permits, and the electrical hookup. The Permits and HOA guide has the questions.

How they are built
Kit models have 1 5/8" Sugi cedar walls, held together with stainless steel screws rather than glue. Our two cabin models, the Teton and Blackwood, are insulated and come with a Sugi cedar, Thermo Spruce, or Thermo Aspen interior, and the siding is chosen per build. Pods, barrels, cubes, and the Timberline are $1,250 off regular price until we are booked up; the Teton and Blackwood are regular price. Read more: Sugi cedar outdoor saunas.
Delivery and assembly in the metro
Kits take about 4-5 weeks to build, then 5-10 business days in transit, and they ship free to Denver-area addresses. Most customers assemble it themselves; line up a helper for the day. Professional assembly for pods, barrels, cubes, and the Timberline is optional at $1,250 from our nationwide assembly team, separate from the sale. The Teton and Blackwood arrive fully built, so there is nothing to assemble; we quote their shipping by location and crane needs and confirm lead time with your quote. Tell us about the street, the driveway, and the route to your spot when you call. More: What free shipping includes · Assembly.
