The heater is the heart of your barrel sauna. Undersize it and heat crawls; oversize without a plan and you fight the controls. This page helps you choose among the Harvia (and related) packages we sell, then confirm the final pick against your exact model on the product page.
Start with our Outdoor Saunas and Heaters collections, or the Electric vs Wood-Burning guide.
What “sized right” means
The 2 Person Barrel and XL Barrel product pages list 175–230°F for the included heater (see FAQs).
Electric Harvia options we commonly offer with builds include KIP (built-in or WiFi) and Spirit WiFi. Standalone heater packages also include Harvia Vega Dial, Wall Dial, KIP Dial/WiFi, Spirit WiFi, plus Huum and Scandia lines in Heaters.
Barrel size → starting point
Use this as a starting conversation, not a substitute for the product page heater options or a licensed electrician:
- 2-person barrel: compact volume; often a mid-range electric Harvia package (KIP / Vega class). Confirm the exact option on the 2 Person Barrel product page.
- 4 Person Barrel (seats 4): larger air volume; step up heater capacity. Check live package on that product page.
- XL barrel (6–8): largest barrel volume we list; size heater upward and plan electrical accordingly. See the XL Barrel product page + Foundation & Electrical.
Wood-burning Harvia options (e.g. Harvia M3, Legend packages) suit people who want fire ritual and can meet clearances/codes. See Heaters.
WiFi
Yes, heaters can be upgraded to WiFi (Harvia KIP WiFi or Spirit WiFi) so you can start heat from your phone (FAQs).
