Short answer: yes, we ship to Southlake and Highland Park. Every Blazin sauna is handmade for its buyer in East Idaho. Free shipping covers pods, barrels, cubes, and the Timberline in the lower 48 states, and shipping to Hawaii and Alaska is quoted. The Teton, Blackwood, and Timberline Lux travel fully built on a shipping quote.
Both towns get North Texas weather: short winters, long summers, and stormy springs. Their weather stations, soils, and permit offices differ, so jump to Southlake or Highland Park. The rest of the state is in our Texas guide.
Southlake: tree permits and the 120 square foot line
Grapevine Dam (NOAA station USC00413691), about 5 miles east of Southlake Town Hall, averages a 34.1°F low and a 55.7°F high in January, and normal highs stay under 70°F from November through March, easy weather for assembly. A normal year brings 38.89 inches of precipitation, with May the wettest month at 4.73 inches (NOAA U.S. Climate Normals). NWS Fort Worth says severe weather peaks in spring, with large hail and damaging winds nearly every year somewhere in the Metroplex, so set the pad a little above grade and leave room to look over every wall after a storm.
The City's accessory building guidelines include:
- Permits for detached accessory structures over 120 square feet and for any attached structure. Compare the footprint on the product page with that number.
- No site work, including grading, brush clearing, or tree trimming, until a Tree Protection Permit is issued and the tree inspection is approved, or a building or earth disturbance permit is posted. Trimming a branch for a crane may count as site work.
- Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors listed on a City permit must be registered with the City.
- The City is not a party to deed restrictions or HOA rules and does not enforce them; each owner is responsible for knowing and following them. Projects in Carillon need an approval stamp from the Carillon HOA before permit submittal.
Ask the City whether the heater circuit needs its own electrical permit, and check with your HOA before you order.
Winter use. Grapevine Dam averages about 15 nights below freezing in January and 13 in December, about 44 in a normal year, and around 5 nights a winter dip under 20°F. Normal snowfall is close to zero. Cold, clear evenings are common enough to make a sauna a real winter habit; plan a frost-safe hose bib or a covered spot for the cold-rinse bucket.
Models for Southlake lots. Larger lots often suit the Timberline, which seats 6 or 8 depending on size, or the 6 Person Cube (6). Southlake's guidelines list tree trimming as site work that needs a permit first, so ask the City before trimming for crane clearance on a fully built Teton or Blackwood. The 6 Person Cube in our photos is a customer install in Colorado, and the Timberline is a Utah install.

Highland Park: clay soil and established yards
Dallas Love Field (NOAA station USW00013960), about 4 miles west of town, averages a 37.9°F low and a 57.7°F high in January, with about 23 nights a year below freezing and about 22 days at 100°F or hotter. May (4.57 inches) and October (4.79 inches) are its wettest months.
- Clay soil. Much of Dallas County sits on expansive clay that swells when wet and shrinks in drought. Ask a local contractor whether gravel, pavers, or a slab suits your ground, aim downspouts and sprinklers away from the base, and check that the door still closes cleanly after the spring and fall rains.
- Permits. The Town's Community Development department handles building permits and inspections. Ask whether the sauna and its circuit need a permit, and confirm setbacks and any deed restrictions before you order.
- Wood smoke. Smoke drifts toward neighbors, so check with the Town and its Department of Public Safety, which combines police, fire, and EMS, before you settle on a wood stove.
- Trees and access. Leaves and pollen collect on a roof, so leave room to sweep it. For a fully built Teton or Blackwood, tell us about low branches, gates, and the drive in; shipping is quoted by location and crane needs.
Winter at Love Field. Snowfall normals at the station total about 1.7 inches a year, most of it in February, and normal December and January lows sit at 39.8°F and 37.9°F. Expect damp, chilly evenings more than hard freezes.
Models for Highland Park yards. Established lots with pools and mature trees leave limited room, so the Pod Mini (seats 1), the 2 Person Pod, or the 2 Person Barrel are common starting points. Our 2 Person Pod photo is a customer install in Boise, Idaho. Ask the Town whether a crane on your street needs a permit if you order a fully built model.
Heater choices
Pods run on electric or gas and are never wood-fired. Barrels, cubes, the Timberline, the Teton, and the Blackwood can be built with wood heat. A licensed electrician should run any new circuit, and wood heat should be cleared with your City or Town and your HOA first. See Electric vs wood-burning heaters.
Delivery to a North Texas address
Kit models (pods, barrels, cubes, and the Timberline) ship free to the lower 48 states. Kits have a 4–5 week lead time, then 5–10 business days in transit. Plan a dry window to set the base, since May is wet at both stations. Most owners build the kit themselves, and professional assembly is available if you would rather not. The Teton, Blackwood, and Timberline Lux arrive fully built, with shipping quoted (crane placement included) and lead time confirmed with the quote. Hawaii and Alaska orders are quoted too. Frequently asked questions
Can I trim trees or clear brush in Southlake before the sauna arrives?
Ask the City first. Southlake's guidelines say site work, including grading, brush clearing, and tree trimming, may not start until a Tree Protection Permit is issued and the tree inspection is approved, or a building or earth disturbance permit is posted.
What base should a sauna sit on in Highland Park's clay soil?
A level base built for your ground. Much of Dallas County sits on expansive clay that swells when wet and shrinks when dry, so ask a local contractor about gravel, pavers, or a slab, and keep downspouts and sprinklers aimed away from it.
Do I need a permit for a sauna in Southlake?
The City's accessory building guidelines require permits for detached accessory structures over 120 square feet and for any attached structure. Ask the City whether the heater circuit needs its own electrical permit, and check with your HOA before you order.
Who do I ask about a sauna permit in Highland Park?
Start with the Town of Highland Park's Community Development department, which handles building permits and inspections. Ask whether the sauna and its electrical circuit need a permit, and confirm setbacks and any deed restrictions before you order.
Is shipping to Southlake and Highland Park free?
Yes for pods, barrels, cubes, and the Timberline, which ship free in the lower 48 states after a 4–5 week build. The Teton, Blackwood, and Timberline Lux arrive fully built, with shipping and lead time quoted. Call (208) 520-6612 or (208) 270-5860.
How cold do Southlake and Highland Park get in winter?
NOAA 1991–2020 normals put about 44 nights a year below freezing at Grapevine Dam (USC00413691) and about 23 at Dallas Love Field (USW00013960). January lows average 34.1°F and 37.9°F.
Can a fully built Teton or Blackwood be craned into a North Texas yard?
It can be. Shipping, including crane placement, is quoted by location. In Southlake, ask the City before trimming branches for clearance; in Highland Park, ask the Town about a crane on the street.
Which sauna fits a smaller Highland Park yard?
The Pod Mini seats 1, and the 2 Person Pod and 2 Person Barrel seat 2. Pods run on electric or gas, never wood. Check the footprint on the product page against your setbacks, and ask the Town before you order.
