How a quoted shipment works

Our free shipping covers pods, barrels, cubes, and the Timberline delivered in the contiguous U.S. Alaska and Hawaii sit outside that, for every model, so we price the freight for your address. Here is the order of things:

  1. Call or email with your address and the model you want. If you are between two sizes, tell us both.
  2. Send photos. The spot, the route from the road, any stairs or slopes, and your power source. On an island lot or a remote Alaska property, access details change the plan.
  3. Get your quote. We quote shipping for your location. For The Blazin Teton Sauna and The Blackwood, which arrive fully built, the quote also depends on whether a crane is needed.
  4. Order and build. Kit models take about 4-5 weeks to build in our shop. We confirm the transit plan for Alaska or Hawaii with your quote, and Teton and Blackwood lead time is confirmed with the quote as well.

Alaska: snow, cold, and long winters

Anchorage and Fairbanks both have long, cold winters with plenty of snow, so plan the base, roof care, and path to the door around it.

  • Plan the base for frozen ground. Ask a local installer what base suits your soil, and keep the cabin level and draining. Start with Foundation and electrical.
  • Keep the roof and path clear. Your borough or city can tell you what snow load applies. Blazin does not publish snow-load ratings or R-values.
  • Think about heat source early. If your property is off-grid, you may want wood heat. Wood is available on the Timberline, XL Barrel, and 4 Person Barrel kits and on the Teton and Blackwood, with the 6 Person Cube on request, plus dual-heater builds that pair wood and electric. Wood stove rules differ by place, so check your local rules and ask us. Gas and propane heaters are available by request: call, text or message us to set it up.

Cold-weather notes: Cold-climate saunas.

Hawaii: sun, rain, and salt air

  • Drainage and airflow. Set the sauna on a level base that sheds water, with space around it so the cedar can dry between rains.
  • Sun and coastal air. Regular exterior care keeps cedar looking good. See Cedar sauna maintenance.
  • Heater choice. An electric heater wired by a licensed electrician is the simple route on most residential lots. Check your local rules before considering anything else, and ask us.

Kit or fully built for a long-distance delivery
